REBECCA DZOMBAK

I studied soils, past and present.

As a geochemist, I'm interested in how life has been sustained on Earth deep in its past as well as here and now—and what that means for our future and search for life on other planets.

I'm Becca (she/her), a science writer with a Ph.D. in Earth & Environmental Sciences.

My science writing to date broadly covers environment and climate in the Anthropocene. I've been published in Scientific American, Smithsonian Mag, Eos, Civil Eats, and more.

I am currently based in the greater Seattle area—a dramatic change from my Midwestern roots!
